Well, Tyler made it through his first week on the trial medication...and it wasn't easy. We had high hopes that Tyler would start feeling better this week, but apparently God had other plans. Tyler's pain is still intense but in a different way. He says the burning in his bones has decreased, which is fantastic, but the pain is now in his leg muscles. He says it feels like the muscles are pulling away from his bones, like having shin splints all down his legs. Sometimes his temperature rises at night and his left foot has been numb since he started the medication. We just need to be patient.
Tyler flew to Denver again today. His brother was kind enough to travel with him. Its a blessing to have a supportive family. Tyler met with a nurse practitioner. More blood tests and EKG's were done. His white blood cell count continues to be high every time he gets his blood drawn. We have been noticing this trend for the last month. The doctors don't seem overly concerned because Tyler doesn't have any other indications of infection. I guess we will just wait and see.
The Lord is walking beside us and teaching us how to be patient, humble, kind, long suffering, and trustful. God is still Great.
