What a week we had! I received a call from Jack Damuni (BYU) on Tuesday asking us to come up to Provo on Wednesday (the next day). Tyler was chosen to be a True Blue Hero! The BYU football program chooses a different hero each week. Its usually someone who is an inspiration to others, and who has a good attitude in the face of adversity. Tyler was a perfect candidate. I wanted to keep it a surprise, at least until we got to Provo. ;) The next day we packed up the kids and headed to Provo. On the way up Tyler played 20 questions with me about our destination and he figured it out! He felt very humbled by the honor.
Tyler has such an AMAZING supportive family. 11 of his family members drove to Provo as a surprise on top of his surprise. He was so happy!
Jack Damuni, and his fabulous assistant Sammy, took us on a sweet tour of the Student Athletic Building and then to the indoor practice facility.
There we watched the team practice and were thrilled when the team ran over to our group! The team was so excited and loud! We couldn't stop smiling. The team gave Tyler some awesome swag and made him an honorary part of the BYU football family. The players then shook our hands and told us thank you. These big football players were so humble and kind. What a fantastic group of guys! The coaches we met were funny and genuine. Thank you Jack, Sammy, Kalani, Steve, Ilaisa, and the entire BYU Football team for giving us such an unforgettable experience. It was a gift from Heaven's hand. God is still there, He still loves us, and He is still GREAT!
